Golf Rules & Etiquette at Felixton Country Club

At Felixton Country Club, we’re proud of our welcoming atmosphere and beautiful course. To ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all players, please familiarise yourself with the following general and local rules.

  • No player may tee off on Hole 1 ahead of golfers approaching Hole 9 green or those taking refreshments at the clubhouse if those players intend to continue to the second nine.
  • Respect pace of play and show consideration to others.

Please rake the sand boxes if you leave ball marks and footprints. Please repair divots off the tee boxes with sand provided.

The tar roads surrounding the course and the electrical fence along the railway line are considered out of bounds. If your ball goes out of bounds you need to return to where you hit the ball from and hit again with a 1 stroke penalty. If you place your ball where it went out you will take a 2 stroke penalty.

All fish ponds on the course are classified as water hazards. If your ball goes into a pond you may place it in the drop zone with a 1 stroke penalty.

Benches, roadways, manhole covers, and bunker rake holders are considered immovable obstructions. Relief may be taken under the rules of golf.

The entire course is classified as fairway. A preferred lie of up to 30cm no nearer the hole is permitted. Simply put, you may move your ball to a preferred place on each stroke except the green or bunker.

Additional or temporary rules displayed on the club notice board are considered in effect and must be observed.

NOTE: All play is governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A, except where local rules override. The club reserves the right to amend or add to these rules as necessary.
